Newbie with a ?

Hi everyone! I'm pretty new to jewelry making.

I had planned on making my mother and myself glass pearl necklaces. I thought it would be pretty easy, but I'm having some trouble. I'm using a small width organza ribbon and I can not find a needle that will go through the glass pearl. I've even used one of those reaming tools to try to increase the diameter of the bead hole.. but no such luck.

And ideas?
